Spring has sprung! Popping up with the long-awaited warmer weather and blooming flora is a new crop of veg-friendly events. The following is a list of 10 exciting events around the country, from March through October,Texas to Michigan and everywhere in between.

March 31, Austin, Texas. At the first ever Texas VegFest, help spread a message of compassion celebrating all the benefits of a plant-based diet, and featuring great vegan food, cold beer, live music, cooking demos, and more. Join Compassion Over Killing and other groups for good vegan food and fun.

April 21. New York, N.Y. At the New York Green Festival, join Mercy for Animals and other groups at one of the nation’s leading sustainability events. Help spread the message of compassion and hear speakers including Jeffrey Smith, John Perkins, Amy Goodman and more.

Not in New York? On May 5 the Chicago Green Festival will be held at Navy Pier. Speakers soon to be confirmed.

Apr 22. Berkeley, California. The Second Annual Berkeley Vegan Earth Day will include films, workshops, panel discussions, a scavenger hunt and an eclectic assortment of speakers.

April 19, Novi, Michigan. The Metro Detroit VegFest, presented by VegMichigan, is one of the largest one-day, indoor vegetarian events in the country, with an expected crowd of 5-6,000! Food, demos, prizes and exhibits will entertain attendees for hours. Featured speakers include U.S. Humane Society President & CEO Wayne Pacelle, “Comfortably Unaware” author Dr. Richard Oppenlander, “raw chef to the stars” Jason Wrobel and others.

June 9, Madison, Wis. The Mad City Vegan Fest provides food samples, raffle prizes demonstrations, and a great lineup of speakers including Colleen Patrick-Goudreau. Admission is free, so don’t miss out!

July 14, Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Twin Cities Veg Fest provides an introduction into the raw/vegan lifestyle with over 60 exhibitors, food, lectures and demonstrations by top rawfood chefs. Free admission. and Facebook: TC Veg Fest

August 2, Alexandria, Virginia. Animal Rights 2012 National Conference. This event includes 60 speakers from 80 different organizations, including Gene Baur and Bruce Friedrich. Nearly 100 different exhibits will showcase the most prevalent topics in animal rights today.

October 5 – 16, San Francisco and Los Angeles, California. Join the 40th World Vegetarian Congress, hosted by the San Francisco Vegetarian Society as an extension of SFVS’ annual World Vegetarian Day celebration.

October 21, Dallas, Texas. The 3rd Annual Texas State Veggie Fair, hosted by DallasVegan.com, is a completely vegan fair with local food, live music, arts, and other entertainment portraying the blossoming vegan scene in Dallas.
