Health2 Resources welcomes new media relations, policy staff

Washington-area firm brings expert focus on health care communications strategy

WASHINGTON, April 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Health2 Resources announced today the addition of two new members to its staff: Kelli Pedas will serve as a policy analyst, and Kimberly Coghill will join as director of media relations and client accounts.

The two join a Health2 Resources team focused on health care public relations and communications strategy. The firm leverages expertise in leading-edge health care topics such as use of health information technology; new models of health care delivery; population health management; quality improvement and standards; and health insurance exchanges, as well as its work with community coalitions that target health care transformation initiatives. Pedas has 20 years' experience in health care legislative issues and policy strategy. She directed the National Business Coalition on Health's (NBCH) federal health care policy program, with a strategic focus on education and advocacy of value-based purchasing initiatives and consumer health improvement among NBCH's diverse coalition membership and other national stakeholders.  Prior to that, she served as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives, during which time she served as an appropriations committee liaison for Congressman David Hobson (OH-7). She holds a bachelor's degree from Ohio State University.

Coghill comes to Health2 Resources with a background in print and digital journalism as well as health care communications. She served as the Washington editor of Bioworld Today, a leading technology trade newspaper and was director of communication for the Biotechnology Industry Organization, a trade group. She previously worked as manager of healthcare/strategy for Washington DC-based Burson-Marsteller and has consulted in communications for Kaiser-Permanente, the American Medical Informatics Association and Avalere Health LLC, among others. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Georgia.
